Come visit the UW Fishing Team booth at the Madison Fishing Expo. Stop by Friday between 4pm - 9pm, Saturday 9am – 7pm, or Sunday 9am – 5pm. We will be selling UW Fishing Team t-shirts and hats and merchandise from our sponsors. All proceeds fund the UW Fishing Team, helping us host events and send team members to tournaments.
Get outside for some Wisconsin winter fun with the UW Fishing Team! Come join us at the Triangle on Lake Monona (see map below) on Saturday, March 3rd for our 2nd Annual Kid’s Ice Fishing Day. We will be on the ice from 9am to 3pm, look for us wearing our white fishing team jerseys. Bring jig poles if you have them, if not we will have some to share. Food and refreshments will be provided for lunch, and we are working with our sponsors to possibly get prizes for all kids that attend. Please email Levi Warner at lwarner@wisc.edu with the number of kids and adults in your party if you plan on attending, or if you have any questions. All kids must be accompanied by an adult.

Several team members went on our annual Winter Break Ice Fishing Trip to Lac Vieux Desert. They stayed with our awesome sponsor Wind Drift Resort and everyone had a great time catching northern pike and walleye. Thanks again to Dave and Wind Drift Resort!
Scott Jorgenson, Josh Geilfuss, Levi Warner, Justin Novara, Adam Stamm, and Austin Noll represented the UW Fishing Team at the 2011 Big Ten Classic. The event on Coldwater Lake, Michigan included 39 teams from 10 schools. Scott and Josh placed first with 10.43 lbs, Levi and Justin placed 12th with 2.34 lbs, and Adam and Austin placed 18th with 1.08 lbs. Wisconsin finished 2nd overall with 13.85 lbs. Congratulations to the three Wisconsin teams and to Michigan State, who won the tournament.
Twenty teams from UW-Madison, UW-Stevens Point, and UW-Whitewater competed in the Midwest College Shootout, starting the day at Olin Park on Lake Monona. Congratulations to Bobby Anspach and Mike from UW-Stevens Point, who took first with 14.02 lbs and also won Big Bass with 3.15 lbs.
Thanks to everyone that supported the UW Fishing Team at the Brat Fry Fundraiser! Team members Levi Warner, Kevin Yeska, Brandon Nigon, Andy Streif, and Cal Buelo set up outside Gander Mountain during their re-opening event to sell brats and team apparel. They also met Dean Rojas (below), Brian “Bro” Brosdahl, and Troy and Jacob Landry from Swamp People.
Brandon Neldner and Luke Hrovat-Staedter fished the FLW College Fishing event on the Detroit River. They started the day fishing 15-20 foot drop offs with tubes and drop-shots, then fished spinners and cranks on the grass flats, and finished with one bass weighing 2 lbs caught on a frog in shallow grass. Congratulations to Brandon and Luke and to Eastern Kentucky for winning the event.
Kevin Yeska and Levi Warner represented the UW Fishing Team at the FLW College Fishing event on the Wolf River Chain. They finished with 3 fish and a total of 6 lbs 4 ounces. Congratulations to Kevin and Levi, and to Eastern Kentucky who won the event.
